Finding Dawn: Part 3 by =P-Sempai:iconP-Sempai:

Finding Dawn: Together in Absence

“I let him go”

An internal jump for joy; a neutral exterior. “Why?”

“You know why” The redhead looked down at the blonde, unimpressed with his idiotic pretence. He eyes drifted away, reminiscing. “…I believe him”

Roxas fought against the smile, but couldn’t; it tugged a wry grin into the corners of his mouth. He nodded gently, “So do I.”

They shared smiles, but worry plagued Axel’s mind, Roxas could see it in his eyes. The taller man stirred, “I let him go, though…  They’ll be asking questions; How? And Why?” His brow creased, his voice growing more exasperated, “What do I tell them?!”

The blonde didn’t reply; he knew the situation was dire; Xetrep had put them in that difficult position. He just hoped that whatever Xetrep’s plan was, it worked and worked fast. Soon the two nobodies would find themselves without a shell or on the run – The only things they had left were their forms, without them they would cease to exist at all. The Organisation may have been corrupt, and misguided, but they were still powerful. That was why Axel obeyed the order to kill Xetrep.

“Roxas, I’m…” Axel paused, his face an image of anguish. What he said justified his pause; it was not something to be taken lightly.

“…I’m scared”

Roxas winced. He didn’t like to hear Axel say things like that. He had such as strong image of Axel as somebody who would protect Roxas when he couldn’t protect himself. To see him like this scared him too.

“So am I” Now they were together in their vulnerable terror: Fantastic. Roxas sighed to himself. He found himself closer to Axel than before, having shuffled nearer instinctively as he spoke. His hands fidgeted aimlessly with the tassels of Axel’s coat; not a playful fidget, but an anxious one, one drawn from the desire to do something, anything to take his mind off of things.

His handling became erratic as he became more frustrated. Axel reached down and stopped him. Roxas’ gaze drew back to meet Axel’s, tears welling in the corners of his eyes again. “Really scared”

Axel smiled, an expression filled with melancholy. A gloved hand rose to Roxas’ cheek and brushed away the tear rolling down it, “its ok… Just calm down, we’ll be alright.” His smile warmed the younger boy. Axel’s hand drew from the blonde’s cheek to his chin, and gently raised his head a little. Roxas blushed a little, but moved his head with the hand, asking, and Axel was happy to oblige. He leaned down into the smaller companion and kissed him. Gently, but with conviction. Their lips brushed and locked, Axel’s hand running through Roxas’ hair before he drew away, the smile returning. Roxas felt somehow safer as Axel drew the boy into him, his head resting against his chest.

“Come on, come with me” the redhead said to the boy nestled against him, a renewed conviction in his voice, “We can’t just let this fester. We have to do something, otherwise we won’t have a chance” The smaller boy looked up at him, just staring a moment, before nodding.

From his hiding spot from behind a nearby pillar, Zexion heard the two leave the spacious, but bland room, their footsteps growing duller and duller. He closed the hard-bound book he was reading with a heavy ‘thump’ and jerked his head to the side, replacing his fringe where he liked it. He didn’t know what to make of the conversation he had overheard, so he remained where he was for a moment, contemplating his options.

Did they have a point? Zexion never cared too much for the politics of the Organisation; he just appeared when he was needed, the rest of the time he absorbed himself into academics. But if there was corruption afoot, it was the right thing to step in and stop it, wasn’t it? But what did he know of right and wrong? What did any of the Organisation know?

Zexion sighed; he knew he’d soon be involved, one way or the other, but he was over thinking the situation as usual. He needed a counsel on the situation, and there was only one person right now who could be the objective that he needed.

A small smile crept onto his dipped head, as the darkness blossomed over him, leaving the room just as empty as it began.

Wow! Talk about a long time coming, huh?!

Like I promised (many moons ago), this is the fluffiest chapter so far. Don't go expecting fluff from now on, it's just something I have an embarrasing soft spot for and will throw in occasionally to take the edge off of the grittier stuff I want to deal with.

I'm sorry it's pretty short, I had planned to add to it, to make it as long as part 2, but since it's been so long, I'm rewriting what I don't have set in stone yet, so part 4 should hopefully be as long as part 2. As it stands, part 2 is about half the size of part two. >.<

But anyway, I hope you enjoy it; you Akuroku fans should hopefully get a buzz from it. :P

I found my favourite line!

"He leaned down into the smaller companion and kissed him. Gently, but with conviction."

I love kisses, I love reading about them, seeng art of them, and most of all experiencing them. The nicety of it lies in "Gently, but with conviction." Because you can picture the kiss perfectly. Wonderful. <3 Ahh such a nice type of kiss too.

Doing E-lang makes you appreciate this kind of stuff to the point where I could probably write an essay on *why* i Like this, and the effect that the modal auxillery verbs and sentence structure have on that, but thankfully for you I'm tired and I cba finding any MAV's or commenting on the sentences. So for now i leave you with LOVE LOVE! <3 Write mooooore. ^_^ Intelligent response oh yeah.

But yeah, Im picky about writing and I do love your style so. :P More.

I don't know much about MAVs, to be honest, but I work a lot on sentence structure. I think the structure can have just as powerful an effect on your interpretation of a piece as the words themselves.

Thanks for the awesome comment! Made my evening. ^_^

Good to see you're back to the old writing then. It would've been a shame if you'd quit, your writing has a certain charm to it. Just seems to... I don't know, flow.

Anyway, here's to Part 4!

Well, my current classification of it is anything that doesn't fit into any other word class, but it is a type of verb... so... yeah. xD We do a lot of uni work in our Elang purely because my teacher uses her notes from Edge Hill to teach us. xDD It's the same as Alevel apparently.

Have you had to transcribe + analyse a conversation yet? My heck is that tedious work. xD

In other news! xD No problem, I'm glad it made your evening. ^_^

Oh, I know *what* MAVs are, but my knowledge is pretty limited.

And our English Language course in uni has been more to do with the History of the Language. So I could give you a lot of etymological stuff, but pretty much all of the structure and knoweldge of our current language, I've researched and fathomed on my own.

I've had to analyse an early Modern English text and date it, it is indeed very tedious. But I can't say I didn't enjoy it.
